Good points there TipTipTopKek.

Dalton obviously feels that there is still a need for an objective (or even sympathetic), easy to read, yet highly accurate translation, along with also providing the text in the original German for comparison, for those able to do so.

I hope Dalton's version also contains plenty of notes that clarify the text. Also lots of images that break up the wall of text and make it more attractive to the average person. What would be even better would to have a companion Youtube reading with lots of images, video, etc.

Mein Kampf is a wonderful piece of work. The chapters on propaganda and on the nature of the State should be used in University today, and the explanation of German history is better than you find in any college course as well. The descriptions of the early days of the NSDAP are inspiring. Unlike what the shill above said, if you want to understand why Hitler wanted the Jews expelled from Germany, the explanation is there to see.

My major disagreement with this post is about the Stalag Edition. Not only is it perfectly readable as-is, it remains the only translation officially endorsed by the NSDAP. The Ostera version is the one I have.

I also have the Ford version and I can understand why the author of a new translation wants to attack that version using ad hominems or credentialist approaches, but having read both Ford and Stalag versions, I think Ford captured all the essential ideas and did overall a better job in making it sound as if it should be read aloud, in other words, a more pleasant version to peruse. Still, the endorsement of the NSDAP is why I think everyone should reference the Stalag version when there's any doubt about content.

Yes, Dalton is quite good here. You can find more of his writings over at Inconvenient History (see top of post).

And thank you RavenWing for your appreciation of this blog and for spreading the word.

katana17,
This is a wonderful write-up by Dalton; your own efforts to expose and catalogue the real truths of the matter are to be commended. I will be recommending this where and how I can.

Junghans,

I read Dalton's essay, and Mein Kampf.

What did I say that is not true?
