In fact, despite this incident occurring in America, the British newspaper the Daily Mail ran no less than THREE headlines about the incident, and I keep calling it an incident, because it isn’t really anything more – we aren’t talking about an internationally news worthy story here – this incident was nothing more than a minor altercation that took place by a swimming pool in America.

 

Yet this incident blew up into an international news sensation, Garnering hundreds of articles, videos on social media and innumerable posts, comments and reactions.

I will say one more thing, just one more thing. Grace loved Nottingham, but she’s not from Nottingham. And Barnaby loved Nottingham, but he’s not from Nottingham either. We’re from different parts of the UK, Grace from the southeast, Greater London, and Barnaby from Somerset, Taunton. And there’s a huge, huge communities down there also needing help, their schools, their friends, their families. So it’s not just Nottingham grieving, but the magnitude of the grief reflects the magnitude of the love! The love we had for her. Thank you.”

That was the mother of Grace O’Malley-Kumar, the 19-year-old student who was tragically killed by the knife wielding West African migrant in Nottingham last week. She died of stab wounds after desperately trying to defend her friend Barnaby, another student and another one of the three people murdered on that day by the crazed knife-wielding killer.

Ever since I was a little ten year old boy, I’ve seen French riots. Every summer, the French are on strike, having a good riot. But what’s different?
