But first I have back with me a guest who was very popular last year from Ireland. And it is the columnist John Waters. For anyone who’s not, … Welcome back to Millenniyule, John.

John Waters: Thank you very much.

Woes: And for anyone who’s not familiar with you just briefly introduce yourself.

John Waters: Well I’m not really a columnist anymore. But I used to be. I was for many years. I was with the Irish Times, I was with all kinds of Irish newspapers. I started off in music journalism and Hot Press, an Irish music magazine [word unclear] many years ago. And been in various things mainstream, until about five, six, years ago.

And then I turned my back on the mainstream. It began to grow very, very seedy and nasty. And just in time! I mean, I kind of got out before things really got horrific, as they have now.

And so I’ve written 10 books, mainly about Ireland, about Irish cultural and political and spiritual life. That kind of stuff. Some of the biographic elements in parts.

And currently you can get me on Substack. I’ve been on Substack for the last year and a half, or so. John Waters on Change, JohnWaters.substack.com I do stuff there, which is kind of what I do generally about all of these things; culture, spirituality, religion, music, you know whatever.

But I mean, the last year, of course, the last two years has been kind of Covid all the way. So most of the stuff on there is somewhat Covid related. And probably will be for the rest of my life [chuckling]!
