1. Sam was originally imprisoned in HMP Leeds for 3 months. 

2. In Leeds, Sam had visits from his family and no restrictions.

3. Sam was transferred to HMP Hull. 

4. Laura and the children visited Sam in Hull once with no issues. 

5. A week later, Sam’s parents had emails rejected for child protection reasons.

6. Laura and Sam’s father complained but got no response.  

7. They were told Sam is a PPRC due to his conviction related to racist materials. 

8. This triggered automatic restrictions separating Sam from all contact with his children in Hull.

9. Laura cannot visit with her infant daughter Violet. 

10. His 2 year old daughter Katherine cannot visit or contact her father.

11. Sam was not informed of the restrictions by the prison. 

12. Sam has no real opportunity to appeal the restrictions.

13. Laura argues the restrictions don’t make sense as the children are too young to be indoctrinated.

14. Laura believes the restrictions aim to punish and deter other nationalists. 

15. Sam must now apply for access and undergo a risk assessment. 

16. Laura cannot even mention the children to Sam or tell him about their wellbeing.

17. Laura is concerned this will confuse and upset Katherine who is used to daily contact.

18. Laura and Sam’s father are waiting for the outcome of the risk assessment.

19. Mark and Laura are discussing ways for their community to help support Sam.

20. They explain Sam’s human rights and his family’s rights have been violated. 

21. Mark outlines writing letters, signing a petition to raise awareness.

22. The petition has nearly 2,000 signatures, they want 3,000-5,000 by July.

23. Mark encourages contacting content creators to spread awareness. 

24. Sending letters and cards to Sam helps uplift his spirits.

25. Mark emphasizes the importance of community advocacy for those unfairly prosecuted.
