So I think what just happened, the path we were planning to march down was blocked. I don’t know who was blocking it, but the crowd just broke through.

This is crazy! So many people. This is even bigger than the lockdown protests. Feels bigger. The energy is just electric! Everyone’s so pumped! Media goons and government bureaucrats telling everyone not to go. Looks like it had the opposite effect.

So what’s happening is, eggs and water bottles and cans are being thrown by these, … What are they? Socialists? Communists? They’re throwing cans of fruit and eggs and full bottles of people. Someone just got hit in the head with a can of fruit, and there’s no cops! Everyone’s just fighting it.

So what happened back there was crazy! The march for Australia was set upon by a counter-protest. Cans of fruit, eggs and full bottles were launched at people trying to march.

There were no police initially, but the counter-protesters, they don’t seem all that serious on actually fighting because despite there being no police there initially, they didn’t actually charge into the March for Australia. They kind of hung back a few. Few meters and just threw missiles. It seems to have held the march up for maybe five minutes, but hasn’t had much of an impact on the spirit. If anything, it’s just agitated people further.

This crowd is absolutely massive! What I’m looking at now is what seems to be, I don’t know, somewhere between five and 10,000 people, just completely filling, … What street is this?

Blair Cottrell: Yeah, they will, yeah. Why do the media say there’s only a few hundred people when there’s clearly thousands?

So we’re walking back to Flinders Street now, back down Bourke street the way we came. The speeches were a huge success. They seem to really invigorate the crowd. Everyone’s united against immigration.

I was a nurse, I quit with Covid because of the abuse of the elderly, and I’m just over it! And I’m here to represent my people, my country. We love everybody! But if you don’t love our country, don’t come!

So the discussions people are having on the march is they feel that they’re being exploited. They feel the government, with its immigration policy, is taking advantage of Australians, taking advantage of the people here. There’s a fire here! There’s a positive energy, but it’s also a fighting energy. People have had enough. They’re fed up and they’re ready to fight! That’s the vibe I’m getting here.

So the march was blocked by counter-protesters. I think they’re communists.

There was a strong effort by some of the main Leftist agitators, counter-protesters, to get pro-Palestinian protesters, like the Muslim community, on board against us. But it looks like the communists are on their own. It doesn’t look like all the Palestinian protesters have joined them. There’s probably 300 Leftists and at least 5,000 Australians here.

It’s amazing that this protest was formed organically. It was just online. People were just talking about it. People were sharing it around. No one, no individual had to actually plan this protest or promote it. The people did this themselves. It really speaks to the initiative of the Australian people. When they feel threatened, they take the initiative. They get things moving. They do it on their own!

All right, so it doesn’t appear as though the police are actually making a path for the march to continue.

So everyone started walking down this alleyway. It seems like this might break the crowd up a fair bit. So I hope everyone will be okay. But we’ll see what happens.

It’s smart what the coppers do, though. They basically use the counter-protesters to form human barriers to prevent the march from going down certain directions going down the main streets.

So the march stagnates, everyone stands around, gets bored, and then starts dispersing down alleyways, and it basically breaks the event up early. The march successfully got to Parliament in one piece. Everybody made their speeches, the people who wanted to speak.

So the march was a huge success! This is where things get spicy, though, because now the march isn’t all together and we’re basically walking through Melbourne. Anyone can kind of jump out from anywhere. So if there’s any time to be high alert, it’s now.

So it seems like some of the protesters are being pushed down this direction by a combination of riot police and mounted police. The riot police have only shown up in the last 15 minutes, curiously, now that the march is off over.

But it seems like when the march is over and people are trying to leave to go home, that’s when things can become pretty violent because people break off from the main contingent, the main protests, and they’re ambushed, going back to their cars in parks, things like that.

I’m now standing with remnants of the march, who seem to be mixed in with random citizens or people in Melbourne.

So some people here support the march and some people don’t. And some people don’t even know what’s going on.

I know immigration isn’t popular in Australia right now, but I still didn’t expect that many people to show up at a march to stop immigration with minimal planning, minimal promotion. Normally, to get a march of that size, you need a couple of months of promotion. You need institutional support. You need at least a couple of media channels, mainstream media channels on your side. It’s very difficult to get that many people to a protest on short notice, especially when you have no institutional support.

The institutions are completely against you! Because major media networks and political bureaucrats, government bureaucrats, they told people not to attend this march. They condemned the march before it happened, and they told people not to go! They made it seem like it was going to be violent and dangerous!

But the whole thing went off pretty much without a hitch. It’s extremely popular and the energy was great!
